Black Hawk Down, well what can I say? Admittedly I read the book because I'd heard about the film and I knew it was a true story, and I so didn't know what i was in for. I swear I could not put it down. It's so touching and you really feel you know the people in it and I swear I cried my eyes out.

The story itself was based on the true events of 3 October 1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia. What was supposed to be a routine mission when terribly wrong when the forces sent in to capture 2 lieutenants of somali warlord Mohammed Farrah Aidid. The mission should only have taken an hour but it all went terribly wrong resulting in 18 dead US soldiers and an awful lot more injured.

I have to say if the film is anything like the book then it's gonna be great, The book is well up in my list of fave books (it's right up there with Lord Of The Rings)

Ok so it's an Orlando Bloom site so I have to mention Orlando obviously, So i'll teel you about his character! Orlando will be playing Todd Blackburn a young Ranger (TFR and Delta were the 2 forces sent in on the mission) straight out of Ranger school, Todd unfortunately missed the jump and fell 70 feet on to concrete. Having read the book and being an Orli fan I hav eto say I can see him doing well in this role, (well he better do or I may be forced to shoot him) Seriously though I hope he does do him justice coz Todd was one of many of the people I really felt for whilst reading the book!
