Fan Story
Lex from the UK sent me this lovely story not really a fan fiction or anything but juat a true story with a rather funny line to it. and before you all go hunting for this Tom guy I better let you know that is not his real name but it has in fact been changed to protect teh poor guy from all of us running after him. ~*Eowyn*~
THE NOT QUITE A MEETING - By Lex (UK)
It's not a meeting with the oh-facially-blessed-one, but one of total embarrassment for me beliving that I was experiencing a meeting.
Where I work we employ alot of temps from agencies to cover when we are short staffed, which is often.
Anyway on this particular day i was sooo tired and ready to zonk out, when some of the agency staff arrived. We usually pay little attention to them but on this particular day one of them caught my eye. One guy looked EXACTLY like Orli. I mean, really, he fooled me anyway. Can I just say, in my defence for the crime of not recognising that he wasn't the future Legolas, I hadn't liked him for that long and like I said I was beat and the guy LOOKED like him. Also, rather bizzarely I was a little slow in not asking why Mr Orlando Bloom, an actor about to become the next big thing was working as an agency worker in the hum-drum world of catering. Surely he was not that desperate for money?
Anyway the only time I ever got Star struck was seeing Pete Postlethwaite in Macbeth at Nottingham but now I was getting all star struck about mr normal-guy-joe!
So Freak of nature me decides, in a moment I'd rather forget, to ask for the guys autograph. The guy looks at me like I've just told him I'm from the planet Zogg, mutters something about therapists and walks away, to the raucous laughter of my boss.
"It's orlando Bloom!", I insist, still not seeing the error of my ways. My boss who by now is near on the floor with laughter, says no its not "Its Tom, he's the agencies new supervisor".
I have never been able to live it down, my so-called friends call me the 'stevie wonder of celeb spotting' and want to know if I want their autograph, Tom the agency worker never returned and the sad thing now is that if i ever came face to face with the real thing, I doubt I'd do anything cos I'd probably think it was another look-alike.
