Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring Review

I spent the day bugging the management to let us have a staff preview I finally saw it today at 10.30pm I just got back and this si what I have to say about it. Please note that this review DOES NOT contain spoilers so have no fear in reading ahead I do not wish to spoil it for any of you, but I will post a more in detail review tomorrow (after I see the movie again) but I will be sure you know if they contain spoilers. This one however does not.

Well I best get on with it I shall make you wait no more here is the review.

The movie is amazing and I have just fallen in love with all my favourite characters again. It will certainly not be dissapointted. Yes they cut a few things I would like to have seen left in but I understand why on all accounts. And the main piece I would like to see in there I somehow suspect may appear in ROTK instead (just a guess though). Overall it was perfect. My new number 1 movie.

I knew it would be good and I expected it to be good, but I never knew it would be this good. It manage dto surpass my expectations and bearing in mind how high I set them that is beyong my wildest dreams. I went looking for the best movie ever made and got the best story ever told, the best movie ever made and the best performances ever performed (if you follow me) all in one. The books were bought to life in everyway. Peter Jackson and everyone involved deserve medals in my mind.

The Characters:

Merry and Pippin are hysterical! (Go Billy keeping his regular accent), Dominc and Billy play the characters perfectly. They reminded me exactly why I loved them so much when I first read it.

Sam and Frodo again were just perfect. All the hobbits were as I imagined them wonderful I can say no more than that. Elijah and Sean both bought the characters to life perfectly.

Legolas is a dream, When I pictured Legolas in my mind this is what I would see, Orlando plays him amazingly and did not put a foot wrong during the whole movie (not that anyone did really). A perfect performance and a perfect character. Who ever says Jude Law should have been given the part best never say it to me.. I could not be more impressed with my favourite character being played out so well. The planning for all the characters was amazing the casting director is a genius.

Viggo Mortensen is amazing as Aragorn just as you'd imagine him and he appears as you'd expect a true king. At my guess he should have a Best Actor OSCAR after ROTK, if not before, he really bought Aragorn to life and you can see how hard he worked on it, he seems so into teh character it is amazing. Well done Viggo!

Ian Holm is Bilbo I can say no more than that. The man that bought Frodo to life for me in the BBC series did the same for me in this with Bilbo. Ian Holm a true hobbit for all to see. I can't express how impressed I am with him. He is a wonderful actor with an amzing talent and presence on screen.

Gollum looks fantastic, exactly as I imagined very cool and the effects team worked wonders, who needs ILM anyway. WETA rule!

Ian McKellan, Sean Bean and Christopher Lee all deserve OSCAR's in my eyes there were great and Sean Bean was amazing some great changes of character a fantastic portrayel well done Sean. Anyone who says Brits can't act should watch this and bow their heads in shame. These performances make me proud to be British

John Rhys Davies was great and you could see the looks between him and Legolas the elf-dwarf relationship is going to be great I can tell!

I can't honestly describe how great it is even Arwen was amazing the changes fitted well and I was so impressed with the attention to detail on every aspect of the movie.

I am so impressed! I cried my eyes out at 3 points in the movie, I wouldn't recoomend wearing eye make up to see it though, I came out looking like a panda but I would not change this for the world, the way it pulls at your emmotions is amazing and I must admit even the very first scene seeing hobbitton for teh first time bought a tear to my eye it all looked as I had imagined.

If this does not get an OSCAR I will be amazed, it deserves so much and for so many different things there was not a thing I thought did not deserve it.and I would quite happily give all the cast one (an OSCAR that is)

I would like to thank everybody involved with the movie in anyway it was amazing and if I could I would shake the hand of everyone involved. The filming, the scenery, the make up, the sets, the casting the costumes everything was just perfect. You are all now my personal gods I offer to enslave myself to you. Thank you all

I love it!
